HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER

If you’re wanting an elopement experience that requires minimal planning on your part – hire an expert! Wedding planners aren’t just for big weddings, they’re for elopements too! Consider this especially if you’re having your elopement in an unfamiliar area. They’ll be your best resource!

MUST-HAVES

Sit down with your fiancé and talk about your must-haves. Since you’re not having a traditional wedding ceremony, there will be things you’re able to forego. Doing this will provide you with a great starting point for your planning.

START PLANNING EARLY

Just get started! This is the easiest thing you can do to minimize stress the closer your wedding day gets. Break up your tasks into chunks. For example, have a day where you research florals and do nothing else. Focusing on one task at a time will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed.

ASK FOR HELP

Just because you’re choosing to elope doesn’t mean you can’t include your friends and family in the planning of it! Ask them to help you research venues or photographers. Not only will it help you with balancing life while planning your elopement, it’ll also make your day feel extra special knowing your loved ones helped you put it all together!

EMBRACE IT

The idea of elopements is non-traditional, so embrace that! Stay flexible in that things may change or not go according to plan. And that’s okay! Roll with the punches and know that everything is going to work out just fine.

GET ORGANIZED

Staying as organized as you can throughout your planning process will help you immensely. Keep lists of your vendors. Write important dates in your calendar. Keeping track of everything in one place will help you avoid unnecessary stress and make the planning process so much easier.

BREATHE

Remember to breathe. Take time for yourself and relax. Have a bubble bath. Go for a walk. Don’t burn yourself out with planning. This is a special time in your life, take time to enjoy it.
